Best Compact SUV to buy........

Hello guys .....welcome back to the blog. This time we have a big topic to discuss, yes!!! as you have read above "Which one is the best compact SUV to buy", it gets tough to decide as all the companies are trying hard to mark their products as best in this particular segment. Let us start this blog by listing all that hotties we got in this segment.
  1. Ford Ecosport.
  2. Maruti Suzuzki Vitara Brezza/ Toyota Urban Cruiser.
  3. Tata Nexon.
  4. Honda WRV.
  5. Mahindra XUV 300.
  6. Hyundai Venue.
  7. Kia Sonet.
  8. Nissan Magnite.
Phew!!!..... that was a long one....!.
Yep that's a long list to choose from, when you want to buy a compact SUV. Let us make it easy by going through each and every car and then we'll compare their specs. Soooo!!!! let's begin...

Ford Ecosport:

This is the one responsible to kick off this segment, very famous now and then. Yes it's an old car, it has got a mid-life facelift with some styling tweaks here and there, and some new addition to feature list. Other then this there has been no any major life updates, it might get one in no time. Well can't wait for the new one. Sitting 3 in the rear is a little tough, but you got ample amount of head room, knee room, good under thigh support. Price: Rs.8.19 - 11.73 lakhs.

Engine: 1.5l petrol(123ps/150nm)               Gearbox: Manual/Automatic
              1.5l diesel(100ps/205nm)

1.0l turbo petrol(125ps/170nm)

Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza / Toyota Urban Cruiser:

This one here took this segment to a next level. That SUV stance, big wheels, boxy SUV like shape and monthly more than 10k bookings that's a huge one. Brezza got all the bells and whistles you needed for a car of this price and it was a immediate hit, another match winning six for Maruti. But later there were more addition to this segment and initially it started growing old, but few months ago..... it got a mild facelift.... not a major one but small tweaks in styling and some features and there was removal of the famous, the legend, the greatest of all " FIAT SOURCED 1.3l DIESEL ENGINE"πŸ˜†πŸ˜†!!! sorry for this one but it wasn't BS6 compliant and not only Brezza, all the Maruti models got rid of the same engine once in for all. Price: Rs.7.34 - 11.4lakhs.

Engine: 1.5l petrol(105ps/138nm)               Gearbox: Manual/Automatic

Tata Nexon:

Now comes the Tata's best model so far. The most comfortable and powerful SUV I've ridden. 3 sitting in back..!!! No problem. Well damped suspension, you also get 3 riding modes and announcement feature to fasten your seatbelt, if fuel is low etc.... But it couldn't beat Brezza in terms of sales because it had some quality issues, touchscreen is small and very laggy!! but was improved with the system updates you receive. And one more important thing it was the first made in INDIA car to get 5 star ratting in safety test. Kudos to Tata for that. Price: Rs.6.99 - 12.7 lakhs.

Engine: 1.2l petrol(110ps/170nm)               Gearbox: Manual/Automatic
              1.5l diesel(110ps/260nm)

  Mahindra XUV 300:

Soon after Nexon this was the newest member in town to enter into this competition. A very good car perfectly balanced in all criteria and also got some segment first features also like heated ORVM's, modes for steering wheel etc..! It has good engine adequate power to make your quick overtakes and also has 1 liter turbo petrol in offer. it has good space in offer, 3 can be fitted in back. Overall a very good car. Price: Rs.7.94 - 12.2 lakhs.

Engine: 1.5l petrol(110ps/200nm)               Gearbox: Manual/Automatic
              1.5l diesel(117ps/300nm)

Honda WRV:

AHHH!!! is it really a compact SUV..??? I don't think so. But it's been included in this segment. For me it's just a Jazz which is grown up and is pretending to behave like an adult. Interiors have been carried from Jazz, slightly bigger wheels, good petrol engine from Honda and a little bit noisier diesel engine which does it's work quite well enough and suspension is stiff. Price: Rs.8 - 10.4 lakhs.

Engine: 1.2l petrol(90ps/110nm)               Gearbox: Manual.

              1.5l diesel(100ps/200nm)

Hyundai Venue:

This one here is also all rounder, it ticks all the criteria boxes and has more engine options mated with many gear box compared to other cars in this segment. But the only one problem is space in back as most of the Hyundai cars have, apart from this it does all work with ease. Looks are good, have many features, powerful diesel and petrol engine options. A great car to have in your garage. Price: Rs.6.7 - 11.7 lakhs.

Engine: 1.2l petrol(83ps/115nm)               Gearbox: Manual/Automatic
               1.5l diesel(100ps/240nm)

1.0l turbo petrol(120ps/170nm)

Kia Sonet:

This baby is the newest one to join the company of compact SUV's. This one is based on the same platform as of the Hyundai Venue after all they both are siblings. It has striking design, alloys are good looking. It also gets the signature Tiger nose grill which looks fab, integrated with the full LED headlamps and DRL. Oh GOD!!!! this one here gets a huge number of features some of which are segment first also. You get all the engines and gearboxes from it's sibling Venue. Price: Rs.6.7 - 12.9 lakhs.

Engine: 1.2l petrol(83ps/115nm)               Gearbox: Manual/Automatic

               1.5l diesel(100ps/240nm)

1.0l turbo petrol(120ps/170nm)

Nissan Magnite:

And this one here is a latest and newest to join the group. It is striking in terms of looks, gets all the features which are present in other cars and even some more, you get only petrol engine option which is good enough for you city travelling and highway cruising. Rear seat comfort is very generous and it's overall a very good package car. Interior is neither WOW or dull/boring, but it does the work pretty well. Price: Rs.5.5 - 9.9 lakhs.

Engine: 1.0l petrol(71ps/96nm)               Gearbox: Manual/Automatic

               1.0l turbo petrol(100ps/160nm)

FEATURES:

Okay now let us begin with the features list. We'll make it easy and short because listing features of every car becomes a huge list. Conclusion:

Now coming to conclusion is a very tough part of this whole blog writing!!!genuinelyπŸ˜…πŸ˜…...But we can't avoid so let's do this one last important work. Again lets go by car by car(one by one),

Ford Ecosport: Frankly speaking it's a very old car and desperately needs a makeover otherwise it's still an absolute charm to ride, Ford please get a new Ecosport ASAP!!!

Brezza/Urban Cruiser: They both are the same car none the less, just a rebadging is done, but only offered in petrol which is good for city driving. You don't get that punchiness from that petrol engine and no option of diesel engine. Still it's people's fav.

Tata Nexon: It's a great car to purchase very reliable, tough.... you got all you want and most important 5 star safety rating. Yes it's the safest.

Mahindra XUV 300: This one here is also an underrated car it is worth every buck you spent. Don't know why people go for this car, yeah I know it also needs a refreshed interiors which is a bit old and plain compared to the other cars in this segment.

Honda WRV: Honda fans you can go ahead and buy this for their NA petrol engine, other than that their is no specific reason to buy.

Hyundai Venue/Kia Sonet: Why I'm including both these cars in one section??? Because they both are none the less same cars, same engine, gearbox, almost same features. Difference is price, Sonet is costlier than Venue.

Nissan Magnite: It's a very practical car and also worth every penny.  I think it's the most affordable in the lot.
